Gonzalez played for the Texas Rangers for the majority of his career, where he became one of the best players in the team's history. He led the league in home runs twice, RBI three times, and was named to the All-Star team three times. He won his first MVP award in 1996, when he hit .314 with 47 home runs and 144 RBI. His second MVP award came in 1998 when he hit .318 with 45 home runs and 157 RBI. He helped lead the Rangers to three division titles during his time with the team.

Despite his success, Gonzalez's career was not without controversy. He was implicated in the steroid scandal that plagued the MLB in the late 1990s and early 2000s, and his reputation was tarnished as a result. Nevertheless, Gonzalez remains one of the most talented players to ever play the game of baseball, and his achievements on the field cannot be denied. He was inducted into the Texas Rangers Hall of Fame in 2011, and his legacy as one of the best power hitters of his era is secure.
