Juan Uribe is a former professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball for 16 seasons. Born on March 22, 1979, in Palenque, Dominican Republic, Uribe began his career in the minors, playing for the Gulf Coast Dodgers in 1997. He made his major league debut on September 30, 2001, with the Colorado Rockies. Uribe played positions at shortstop, third base, and second base during his career, and won the World Series three times with the Florida Marlins in 2003, the Chicago White Sox in 2005, and the San Francisco Giants in 2010. Uribe’s best years in the MLB came in the late 2000s, when he was playing for the Chicago White Sox and the San Francisco Giants. In 2004, he hit a career-high 23 home runs with the White Sox and helped the team win the World Series in 2005. He was known for his strong arm and excellent defensive skills, which helped him become a fan favorite among his teams' supporters. In 2010, Uribe signed a two-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers and helped the team reach the National League Championship Series that year.

Uribe retired from professional baseball on August 27, 2017, after playing for the Cleveland Indians in his final season. He ended his career with a batting average of .257, and 199 home runs with 827 runs batted in. On top of his three World Series titles, Uribe was also named a National League All-Star in 2010 while playing with the Giants. His hard work and dedication to the sport of baseball and his team allowed him to have a successful career and he continues to be respected by his fellow players and fans alike.
