Ken Griffey Jr. is considered one of the best baseball players of all time. Born on November 21st, 1969, in Donora, Pennsylvania, USA, Griffey Jr. was introduced to the sport by his father, Ken Griffey Sr., who also played professional baseball. In 1987, at the age of just 17, Griffey Jr. signed with the Seattle Mariners and began playing in their minor league system. In 1989, he made his major league debut for the Mariners and quickly established himself as a phenomenal outfielder and fearsome hitter. Griffey Jr. played with the Mariners for 11 years, earning 10 All-Star selections, 10 Gold Gloves, and 7 Silver Slugger Awards. He helped the team reach the playoffs in 1995, 1997, and 2000.
