It was there that he enjoyed his most successful years, becoming a three-time All-Star in 1977, 1979, and 1981. In 1979, he led the American League in RBI with 111, and in 1981, he led the league in on-base percentage (.425) and finished fourth in the MVP voting. Singleton was also an excellent postseason performer, hitting 5 home runs in 35 at-bats during the 1979 World Series, leading the Orioles to their last championship in franchise history.

After his stint with the Orioles, Singleton returned to his hometown to play for the New York Yankees before retiring after the 1984 season. His successful career saw him compile over 2,000 hits, hit 246 home runs, and finish with a career batting average of .282. Singleton later joined the Yankees’ broadcasting crew, serving as a color commentator since 1997, continuing to share his expertise and passion for baseball with fans across the country.
