Kenta Maeda is a prominent Japanese baseball pitcher. He was born on April 11, 1988, in Osaka, Japan. He started playing baseball at a young age, and his talent for the sport soon became evident. Maeda began his professional career in 2006 with the Hiroshima Toyo Carp where he played for eight seasons. During his time with Toyo Carp, he became one of the best pitchers in Japanese baseball. Kenta Maeda made his debut for the Dodgers in 2016 and quickly made a name for himself as one of the best pitchers in the team. He finished the season with a record of 16-11 and a 3.48 ERA, earning him the National League Rookie of the Year Award. In his next season with the Dodgers, Maeda played a pivotal role in taking the team to the World Series. He finished the season with a 13–6 record and a 4.22 ERA. However, the Dodgers fell short in the World Series against the Houston Astros.

In the following seasons, Kenta Maeda continued to show why he was one of the most prominent pitchers in the league. In 2020, he was traded to the Minnesota Twins in exchange for Brusdar Graterol. Maeda quickly impressed with the Twins and finished the season with a 6-1 record and a 2.70 ERA. He was named the Minnesota Twins Most Valuable Player for the season.
