Kris Medlen Autographs
Kris Medlen, born on October 7, 1985, in Phoenix, Arizona, is a former professional baseball pitcher who made a significant impact in Major League Baseball (MLB) primarily with the Atlanta Braves and the Kansas City Royals. Medlen attended high school at Desert Mountain High School, where his impressive skills on the mound earned him a scholarship to the University of California, Santa Barbara. After showcasing his talents in college baseball, he was drafted by the Braves in the 10th round of the 2006 MLB Draft. Medlen made his MLB debut with Atlanta on September 20, 2009, quickly becoming known for his precision and ability to perform under pressure.
Medlen's career took off during the 2012 season, when he was thrust into the starting rotation due to injuries within the Braves' roster. He delivered a stellar performance, finishing the season with a remarkable 10-1 record and a 1.57 ERA, which garnered national recognition. His dominance continued into the 2013 season, where he posted a 15-12 record with a 3.11 ERA and was regarded as one of the most reliable pitchers in the National League. Unfortunately, Medlen faced setbacks due to injuries, including two Tommy John surgeries that significantly impacted his career trajectory.
After his time with the Braves, Medlen signed with the Kansas City Royals in 2015 and continued to demonstrate his competitiveness on the mound, though he struggled to maintain the same level of performance as in his earlier years. He contributed to the Royals during their playoff run in 2015, culminating in a World Series championship, adding a significant accolade to his career. Despite his ups and downs, Medlen’s tenacity and skill have left a lasting impression on fans and players alike, solidifying his place in baseball history as a fierce competitor who overcame adversity throughout his career.
