Lance Parrish was born on June 15, 1956, in Clairton, Pennsylvania. He was a catcher who played 19 seasons in the Major League Baseball for teams such as the Detroit Tigers, Philadelphia Phillies, California Angels, Seattle Mariners, Cleveland Indians, and the Pittsburgh Pirates. Parrish had several achievements over his career, which included being a six-time All-Star, three-time Gold Glove winner and two-time Silver Slugger. Parrish's career continued to flourish even after leaving Detroit. He was an All-Star with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1988, and again with the California Angels in 1990. Parrish retired from baseball in 1995, and his record consisted of 1,886 hits, 324 home runs, and 1,070 RBIs.
