Marson quickly rose through the ranks in professional baseball, beginning his career in minor league fanfare before ultimately debuting in the Major Leagues with the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008. He played as a catcher in the Phillies' farm system for several seasons before becoming a regular player in the major leagues in 2009. He played for the Phillies for four years before being traded to the Cleveland Indians in 2009. With the Indians, Marson remained a trusted catch adept at curbing the progress of runners and called for impressive pitches that made the team one of the best in Major League Baseball.

Throughout his career, Lou Marson became a household name, throwing to Steph Curry and showing the best defense at third base, making countless sacrifice bunts, and giving his team the edge they needed to earn victories. He retired in 2015 due to an injury that made it harder for him to perform optimally. Nevertheless, his success in the sport won several accolades and made him one of the best catchers of his generation, with his name inspiring a generation of young catchers who aim to emulate his brilliance on the pitch.
