Ordonez quickly established himself as one of the top hitters in the league, batting .320 or higher in three out of his first four seasons. Ordonez continued to shine with the White Sox until 2004, when he signed with the Detroit Tigers as a free agent.

Ordonez's career with the Tigers was just as impressive as his time with the White Sox. In 2007, he helped lead the Tigers to the World Series with his clutch performances throughout the playoffs. Ordonez finished his career with a .309 batting average, 294 home runs, and 1,236 runs batted in. He was inducted into the Venezuelan Baseball Hall of Fame in 2016 and remains one of the most beloved players in both Chicago and Detroit. Read even more about Magglio Ordonez at Wikipedia
