Manuel Gerardo Mota was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic on February 18, 1938. He started his baseball career in 1957, playing in the Dominican Professional Baseball League for the Leones del Escogido. In 1962, he signed with the San Francisco Giants but spent most of his career playing for the Dodgers. Mota played 20 seasons in Major League Baseball as an outfielder, hitting .304, with 1,676 hits and 97 homers. More about Manny Mota
