Langston’s name first appeared in the MLB in 1984 playing for the Seattle Mariners, where he quickly rose to become a formidable pitcher, leading the American League in strikeouts that year. He later moved on to play for the Montreal Expos, where he struck out 200 batters, a feat he accomplished in 7 seasons. Langston joined California Angels in 1990 in exchange for four players as it was the team's effort to improve their pitcher roster, which was paying off as they reached the postseason in his first season with the team.
