Mulder’s rookie year was in 2000, and he quickly became a key member of the Athletics’ pitching staff. He was part of the team that won the American League West division five years in a row from 2000-2004. During this time, Mulder was an All-Star twice, and he finished in the top five in Cy Young Award voting twice as well. In addition to his fastball, Mulder was known for his devastating curveball, which earned him the nickname “The Snake” among his teammates.

He was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in 2005, where he spent the last few years of his career. However, injuries forced him to retire after the 2008 season at just 31 years old. Mulder left a lasting impact on the game, ending his career with a 103-60 record and a 4.18 ERA in over 1,500 innings pitched. Read even more about Mark Mulder at Wikipedia
