Matt Morris is an American former baseball pitcher who was born on August 9, 1974, in Middletown, New York. Morris had a very impressive career in baseball that spanned over a decade. Morris began his professional baseball career in 1995 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He quickly rose through the ranks and made his Major League debut in 1997. He was a key member of the Cardinals' pitching staff for many years, helping them to reach the playoffs six times during his tenure. In 2001, he finished third in the Cy Young voting after posting a 22-8 record and a 3.16 ERA. Morris was a successful pitcher for many years before being traded to the San Francisco Giants in 2005. He retired after the 2008 season with a career record of 121-92 and a 3.98 ERA.

Outside of baseball, Morris has been known for his philanthropic efforts. He founded the "M3 Foundation," which supported several charitable organizations, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the Children's Miracle Network. Morris was also a co-founder of the Diamond Club, which provided scholarships to young baseball players. Morris's dedication to both baseball and charitable work has made him a well-respected figure both on and off the field.
