Max Macon Autographs

Max Macon was born in October 1909, in Dallas, Texas. He was a right-handed pitcher who started his professional baseball career by playing in the Texas League in 1928. He was with the League for two seasons before he was purchased by the St. Louis Cardinals in 1930. He made his Major League debut for the Cardinals on September 16, 1931, and played with them for two seasons before he was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies.
Macon played with the Phillies from 1933 to 1935, where he had his best season in 1934 with a record of 14-10 and a 2.93 ERA. His other significant contributions to the team included hitting seven home runs in his MLB career, which was rare for a pitcher in his time. He was a competitive player who had great control over his pitches, and often attributed his success to his cut fastball. He retired from baseball in 1945, after a 16 year career, which included both minor and major league play.
Throughout his career, Max Macon's achievements extended beyond baseball. He was World War II veteran and was awarded a medal of honor for his service. In baseball, he was a fantastic contributor for his teams on and off the field, with teammates and fans alike. Macon passed away in October 1990, at the age of 81, but his legacy as a significant contributor to the sport along with his patriotism have continued to be recognized even till date.
