Mike Moustakas Autographs
Mike Moustakas was born on September 11, 1988, in Los Angeles, California. He attended Chatsworth High School where he played baseball and became one of the top prospects in the country. In 2007, he was drafted by the Kansas City Royals in the first round of the Major League Baseball draft. Moustakas quickly rose through the ranks, playing a season with the Burlington Bees, two seasons with the Wilmington Blue Rocks, and a season with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals before being called up to the majors in 2011.
In his rookie season, Moustakas played in 89 games and hit .263 with five home runs and 30 RBIs. In 2014, he had a breakout year, hitting .284 with 20 home runs and 73 RBIs while winning a Gold Glove award for his defensive prowess at third base. Moustakas continued to improve in 2015, hitting a career-high 22 home runs and earning his first All-Star selection.
In 2017, Moustakas had his best season yet, hitting 38 home runs and driving in 85 RBIs while leading the Royals to the postseason. He also set the Royals' single-season home run record, surpassing Steve Balboni's previous record of 36. Moustakas became a free agent after the 2017 season, signing with the Milwaukee Brewers in 2018. He continued his strong play with the Brewers, hitting 28 home runs and driving in 95 RBIs while helping to lead the team to the National League Championship Series. Moustakas remains a highly respected player in the league and continues to be a force at the plate and in the field.
