Nate McLouth is a former American professional baseball player who was born on October 28, 1981, in Muskegon, Michigan. He spent much of his childhood in the small town of Whitehall and began playing baseball at a young age. McLouth's professional baseball career began in 2000 when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 25th round of the MLB draft. He spent several years playing in the minor leagues before making his Major League debut in 2005. It was during his time with the Pirates that McLouth really made a name for himself. He enjoyed a breakout season in 2008, when he hit 26 home runs and stole 23 bases, earning him a spot in the All-Star Game and a Gold Glove Award for his defensive prowess in the outfield. McLouth played for the Pirates until 2009 when he was traded to the Atlanta Braves. He spent time with several other teams before retiring in 2014.

Throughout his career, McLouth was known for his athleticism and versatility, able to play multiple positions in the outfield, as well as second base and shortstop on occasion. He was also a feared hitter, finishing his career with a batting average of .247 and 101 home runs. McLouth's contributions to the game of baseball earned him a legion of fans and a place in the history books as one of the sport's most talented and dynamic players.
