Nyjer Morgan, also known as Tony Plush, is a former American professional baseball player who is well known for his speed, enthusiasm, and style of play during his time in the major leagues. Born in San Francisco, California, on July 2, 1980, Morgan began his professional baseball career in 2002 when he was selected in the 33rd round of the MLB draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates.
The highlight of Morgan's career came during his time with the Milwaukee Brewers from 2011 to 2012. During his first season with the club, he played a key role in helping the Brewers advance to the National League Championship Series. He also established himself as a fan favorite due to his energy on the field and his interactions with fans, reporters, and teammates. Morgan's career ended in 2017 after a stint with the Acereros de Monclova of the Mexican League.
Throughout his career, Morgan was a versatile player who played in all three outfield positions and even pitched in a few games. He was also known for his aggressive base running and his ability to get on base consistently. Morgan finished his career with a .282 batting average and 117 stolen bases, cementing his legacy as a dynamic and exciting player on the field.
