Pat Underwood Autographs

Pat Underwood was a left-handed pitcher who played in the Major League Baseball (MLB) between the years 1979 and 1983. Born on January 26, 1957, in Kokomo, Indiana, Pat grew up playing baseball and was a standout player at Western High School. He then went on to attend Michigan State University where he played for the Michigan State Spartans baseball team. In 1976, while still in college, Pat was the 2nd overall pick in the MLB draft by the Detroit Tigers.
Pat started his professional career with the Montgomery Rebels, a minor league team of the Detroit Tigers in 1976. In 1979, Pat finally made his MLB debut for the Tigers and went on to have a successful rookie season with a 4-0 record in eight starts. He was then hit with elbow injuries and was unable to repeat the success of his rookie season. He rehabbed and played for several minor league teams before retiring in 1987. Despite his injuries, Pat is remembered for his impressive pitching career and being part of the Tiger's World Series Championship in 1984.
After retiring, Pat served as a pitching coach for various minor league and independent league teams. He also made headlines when he became the General Manager of the Traverse City Beach Bums of the Frontier League, where he became one of the youngest GMs in professional sports at the age of 36. Pat's love for the game and his desire to help young players succeed continues to inspire the next generation of baseball players.
