Goldschmidt's professional baseball career began in 2009 when he was drafted by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the eighth round of the Major League Baseball (MLB) draft. He spent the next few seasons working his way up through the minor leagues, and he made his Major League debut in 2011. Goldschmidt quickly became a star player for the Diamondbacks, earning three All-Star selections, three Gold Glove Awards, and four Silver Slugger Awards during his time with the team.
