Ralph Kiner was an American professional baseball player, born on October 27, 1922, in Santa Rita, New Mexico. He played as an outfielder in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 10 seasons, from 1946-1955. Kiner was known for his exceptional hitting abilities, in particular, his power hitting. He was part of the Pittsburgh Pirates team that won the National League pennant in 1948, and he was a six-time All-Star, having led the National League in home runs for seven consecutive years from 1946 to 1952. Kiner started his baseball career with the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1946 and quickly made an impact with his exceptional hitting skills. During his debut season, Kiner managed to hit 23 home runs and in his second, he smashed a staggering 51 home runs, finishing top for the National League. He led the NL in home runs during the next five seasons, becoming one of the most feared players in the league.
