Rick Porcello Autographs
Rick Porcello is a retired professional baseball player who spent 12 seasons in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born in 1988 in New Jersey, Porcello excelled as a high school baseball player, earning Gatorade Player of the Year honors in his senior year. In the 2007 MLB Draft, he was selected by the Detroit Tigers in the first round, as the 27th overall pick. Porcello made his debut with the Tigers in 2009, at the age of 20, and quickly established himself as a promising young pitcher. He spent five seasons with the Tigers, earning an American League Cy Young Award in 2016 before being traded to the Boston Red Sox in 2015.
Porcello had a successful stint with the Red Sox, helping them win the 2018 World Series. In game three of the series, he pitched a gem, allowing only one run over 5.2 innings to help the Red Sox secure a crucial victory. Overall, Porcello finished with a 17-7 record during the 2018 regular season, with a 4.28 ERA and 190 strikeouts. Porcello also excelled as a batter at times, hitting a grand slam in a game against the New York Yankees in 2019.
After the 2019 season, Porcello entered free agency and signed with the New York Mets in December of that year. He played one final season with the Mets before retiring from baseball in 2021. Over his career, Porcello accumulated a total of 150 wins, a 4.43 ERA, and 1,462 strikeouts across 12 seasons. Despite retiring at the age of 32, he achieved a great deal of success in his career, becoming one of the top pitchers of his generation.
