Ventura began his professional baseball career with the Chicago White Sox after he was drafted by them in the 1st round of the 1988 MLB draft. He played for the team until 1998 and then moved on to play for the New York Mets, New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Dodgers. Ventura had a successful career, playing as a third baseman and a first baseman, and won six Gold Glove awards for his outstanding defensive skills. Ventura was also good as a hitter and was able to accumulate an impressive 294 career home runs, 1,182 RBIs, and a career batting average of .267.

After retiring from baseball in 2004, Ventura transitioned to coaching and became the manager of the White Sox in 2012. He led the team to a record of 85-77 in his first season and was named the American League Manager of the Year. Ventura managed the team until 2016 when he resigned from the position. In 2017, he joined the athletic department of Oklahoma State University as a special assistant. Ventura's contributions to baseball as a player and a coach have earned him a well-deserved place in baseball history. Read even more about Robin Ventura at Wikipedia
