Rocky Colavito was an American professional baseball player born in New York on August 10, 1933. He began his baseball career in the minor leagues in 1951, playing for the Jamestown Falcons. In 1955, Colavito made his major league debut with the Cleveland Indians. During his time with the Indians, Colavito became one of the most feared right-handed hitters in the league. He was known for his tremendous power and was a consistent All-Star, playing in six All-Star Games between 1959 and 1966. After his stint with the Indians, Colavito also played for the Detroit Tigers, Kansas City Athletics, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees. He retired with 374 home runs, 1,159 runs batted in, and a career batting average of .266. Colavito also played first base, third base, and outfield. He was a fan favorite and loved by his teammates for his enthusiasm and work ethic.

Despite his impressive stats, Colavito was famously traded by the Indians to the Tigers in 1960, a move that was highly criticized by fans and the media.
