Ryan Ludwick is a former professional baseball player who played for over a decade in Major League Baseball (MLB). Born on July 13, 1978 in Satellite Beach, Florida, Ludwick attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and was selected by the Oakland Athletics in the second round of the 1999 MLB draft. However, he didn't make his debut until 2002 with the Texas Rangers. Ludwick went on to play for several teams throughout his career including the Cleveland Indians, St. Louis Cardinals, San Diego Padres, Cincinnati Reds, and Texas Rangers. More about Ryan Ludwick

Ludwick had the best years of his career with the Cardinals, where he was named an All-Star in 2008 and finished 16th in the NL MVP voting. Ludwick had a career year in 2008, with a .299 batting average, 37 home runs, and 113 RBIs. In 2010, he was traded to the Padres and played one season there before signing with the Reds for the 2012 season. During his career, Ludwick was known for his power-hitting ability and clutch performances, helping his teams to several playoff runs.

Ludwick retired from baseball after the 2016 season, finishing his career with 154 home runs, 587 runs batted in, and a .260 batting average. He also played solid defense, recording a .987 fielding percentage and making just 23 errors in over 800 games played in the outfield. Although never considered a superstar player, Ludwick was a dependable and valuable asset for many teams throughout his career, contributing to their success with his strong offensive and defensive performances.
