Scott Mathieson is a former Canadian professional baseball player who was born on February 27, 1984, in Vancouver, British Columbia. His passion for the sport led him to play in various leagues across the world, including Japan and South Korea, before retiring from the sport in 2018. Mathieson developed an early interest in baseball and honed in his skills while attending high school at Aldergrove Community Secondary School in Langley, British Columbia. In 2002, he was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 17th round of the MLB draft.
In his professional baseball career, Mathieson played as a pitcher and was known for his remarkable fastball. He played for several teams, including the Philadelphia Phillies, Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB), Yokohama DeNA Baystars, and Kia Tigers of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO). However, he bounced back and opted to play in Japan, where he was a dominant pitcher for the Yomiuri Giants.
