Stephen VogtStephen Vogt is an American former professional baseball player who was born on November 1, 1984, in Visalia, California. Vogt graduated from Central Valley Christian High School in Visalia, and he went on to attend Azusa Pacific University, where he played baseball for the school's team. He started his professional baseball career in 2007 after being drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 12th round of the MLB draft.
Vogt's baseball career spanned 12 years, and he played for several teams throughout his career, including the Rays, Oakland Athletics, Milwaukee Brewers, and Arizona Diamondbacks. He was primarily a catcher, but he also played as a first baseman and outfielder. Vogt was known for his versatility and was often moved around the field by his managers to accommodate changes in the game.
Vogt's career highlights include being named an All-Star twice in 2015 and 2016 and winning the Gold Glove Award in 2015. He played his last game on September 27, 2020, as a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Vogt retired in January 2021, and he currently works as a studio analyst for the Oakland Athletics. His legacy as a player will be remembered for his versatility, strong defense, and clutch hitting.
