Steve Lyons Autographs
Steve Lyons is a former American professional baseball player who played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 8 seasons between 1985 and 1993. He was born on June 3, 1960, in Tacoma, Washington. Lyons played primarily as an infielder and outfielder and was known for his versatility and ability to play multiple positions on the field.
Lyons played college baseball at Oregon State University and was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the first round of the 1981 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut in 1985 with the Red Sox and spent three seasons with the team before being traded to the Chicago White Sox. Lyons played for the White Sox from 1989 to 1991 before being traded to the Atlanta Braves for the 1992 season. He finished his MLB career with the Montreal Expos in 1993.
Over the course of his MLB career, Lyons played in 605 games and recorded a .252 batting average with 19 home runs and 131 RBIs. He was known for his energetic and enthusiastic style of play and was a fan favorite throughout his career. After retiring from playing, Lyons became a baseball analyst for Fox Sports and ESPN and has also worked as a television broadcaster for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
