Stu Miller

Stu Miller was an American professional baseball player who played as a pitcher for 16 seasons in Major League Baseball. He was born on December 26, 1927, in North Tonawanda, New York. Miller started his baseball career in 1949 when he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played two seasons for the Cardinals before moving to the Philadelphia Phillies in 1951. Miller was known for his superb control as a pitcher, and he was known to be one of the most consistent pitchers in the league during his prime. He was primarily used as a relief pitcher throughout his career, but he did start games as well. Miller played for five teams during his career, including the Baltimore Orioles, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves. He was a two-time All-Star in 1958 and 1961.

Miller retired from baseball in 1968 with a career record of 105-103 and an ERA of 3.24. After retiring, he took up coaching and spent several years as a pitching coach for the Orioles and the San Francisco Giants. He passed away on January 4, 2015, at the age of 87.
