Henrich played as an outfielder for the Yankees for 11 seasons, from 1937 to 1950. During his stint with the Yankees, he won five World Series championships in 1938, 1939, 1941, 1947, and 1949. He was a consistent performer during his tenure and had a career batting average of .282 with 1, 109 hits, 183 home runs, and 795 runs batted in. He was nicknamed "Old Reliable" by the Yankees' fans for his consistent performance in clutch situations. Henrich was also selected for five All-Star games from 1942 to 1946.

After retiring from baseball, Henrich stayed active in the sport as a coach, scout, and broadcaster. He was inducted into the Cincinnati Reds Hall of Fame, the Ohio Baseball Hall of Fame, and the New York Yankees' Monument Park.
