Tommy McCraw Autographs
Tommy McCraw was born on November 21, 1940, in Malvern, Arkansas. During his high school years, he excelled in both baseball and basketball. However, it was his talent on the diamond that led him to pursue a professional career in baseball. McCraw began his career in 1963 when he was signed by the Los Angeles Angels. He quickly established himself as a solid player, displaying great hitting ability and a strong fielding arm. He also had a reputation for being a team player, who was always willing to do whatever it took to help his team win.
Over the course of his 15-year career, Tommy McCraw played for four different teams, including the Angels, Chicago White Sox, Washington Senators, and Oakland Athletics. Although he was never a power hitter, he was known for his ability to make contact with the ball, which resulted in a high batting average. He also played an excellent first base, winning the Gold Glove award in 1971. After retiring from playing, Tommy McCraw stayed involved in the baseball world, serving as a coach for several different teams, including the Texas Rangers and Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
