Torey Lovullo Autographs
Torey Lovullo is a former professional baseball player and current manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks. Lovullo was born on July 25, 1965, in Santa Monica, California. He attended UCLA, where he played college baseball for the Bruins. Lovullo was a standout player for UCLA, earning All-Pac-10 honors in his senior year.
After college, Lovullo was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in 1987. He spent several years in the minor leagues before making his major league debut with the Tigers in 1988. Lovullo played for several teams over his 8-year career in the majors, including the Tigers, Yankees, Angels, Mariners, and Indians. Although he was never a star player, Lovullo was a reliable and versatile player, able to play several positions on the field. He retired as a player in 1999 with a career batting average of .224, 15 home runs, and 60 RBIs.
After his playing career ended, Lovullo transitioned into coaching, and he quickly rose through the ranks. He spent several years in the minor leagues as a coach and manager before joining the Boston Red Sox as a bench coach in 2010. Lovullo quickly became a sought-after coach and was named the manager of the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2016. In his first season with the team, Lovullo led the Diamondbacks to the playoffs, earning the National League Manager of the Year award in the process. Lovullo continues to lead the team on the field, using his experience as a player and coach to guide his players to success.
