Jackson's baseball career began in 1922 when he joined the New York Giants as a rookie after impressing the team management during a tryout. He quickly made a name for himself during his first season and became a regular starter for the Giants by the following year. In 1923, he led the league in fielding percentage, and in 1929, he was part of the team that won the National League pennant. Jackson played in the World Series in 1923, 1924, 1933, and 1936, winning it twice in 1923 and 1933.

During his career, Jackson earned a reputation as one of the best infielders of his time. He was known for his exceptional fielding skills and reliable throws to first base. When he retired in 1936, Jackson held the record for the most games played at shortstop in National League history. After his playing career, Jackson became a coach and scout for various teams, including the Giants, who honored him by retiring his number 11 jersey. Jackson was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982, acknowledging his contributions to the sport as a player and a coach. Read even more about Travis Jackson at Wikipedia
