Whitey Moore made his major league debut on April 19, 1936, playing for the Chicago Cubs. He soon became the starting pitcher for the team and proved to be a key player in their season. Moore played a total of 17 games for the Cubs and finished with a 9-5 record. He had an impressive 2.68 ERA and 12 complete games. After his debut season, Moore was traded to the Cincinnati Reds, where he played until his retirement in 1943.

Throughout his career, Whitey Moore was known for his consistency and accuracy on the mound. He recorded a career record of 51-52 with a 3.89 ERA and 171 strikeouts. Moore was also known for being a team player who worked hard to improve his skills and help his team succeed.
