Wil Myers is an American professional baseball player born on December 10, 1990, in Thomasville, North Carolina. The talented outfielder and first baseman began his baseball career in high school, playing for the Wesleyan Christian Academy. In 2009, he was named the North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year, attracting several college offers. Wil opted to sign with the Kansas City Royals, who drafted him in the third round of the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.
After debuting in professional baseball, Myers climbed the ranks, playing for several minor league teams before joining the Royals in 2013. In his rookie year, he led his team in batting and belted 13 home runs. He was named the American League Rookie of the Year, cementing his status as one of baseball's future stars. However, the Royals traded him to the Tampa Bay Rays the following season, where he emerged as an All-Star outfielder, hitting 30 homers and driving in 94 runs in 2016. In 2019, Myers was traded to the San Diego Padres, where he played as a right fielder, first baseman, and designated hitter, adding versatility to his skillset.
