Yadier Molina

Yadier Molina is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball catcher who spent his entire career with the St. Louis Cardinals. Molina was born on July 13, 1982, in Bayamón, Puerto Rico. He grew up in a family with a strong baseball background, with his two older brothers both playing in the major leagues. Molina was drafted by the Cardinals in 2000, and after just four years in the minor leagues, he was promoted to the major leagues in 2004. More about Yadier Molina

Molina quickly established himself as a key player for the Cardinals, both for his defensive skills and offensive abilities. He won his first Gold Glove Award in 2008, and continued to receive the award for eight consecutive seasons from 2008 to 2015. Additionally, Molina was named an All-Star nine times, including being selected as the National League's starting catcher multiple times. Molina also played a key role in the Cardinals' success in the playoffs, winning two World Series championships with the team in 2006 and 2011.

Throughout his career, Molina was known for his strong arm and exceptional defensive skills behind the plate, earning him the nickname "Yadi". He was also a reliable hitter, with a career batting average of .281, as well as hitting 156 home runs and 932 RBI. Molina was widely regarded as one of the best catchers in baseball during his playing days, and his impact on the game will be remembered for years to come.
