Dave DeBusschere was a professional basketball player and coach who was born on October 16, 1940, in Detroit, Michigan. He played for the University of Detroit Mercy where he was an all-American athlete in 1962. After college, DeBusschere was drafted into to the NBA by the Detroit Pistons in 1962. He also played for the New York Knicks and the Detroit Pistons during his basketball career. DeBusschere was known for his exceptional defensive skills and tenacity on the court.
