Born on January 30, 1973, in Detroit, Michigan, Rose began his basketball career playing for Southwestern High School, where he became one of the most dominant high school basketball players in the state. After graduating from high school, Rose joined the prestigious University of Michigan basketball program, where he quickly emerged as a star player on the national stage.
During his college career, Rose helped lead the Wolverines to two NCAA Championship game appearances, including an unforgettable run to the title game in 1992. Following his college career, Rose was drafted with the 13th overall pick in the 1994 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. He spent the first five years of his NBA career playing for the Nuggets, where he established himself as one of the most dynamic and versatile guards in the league. In 1999, Rose was traded to the Indiana Pacers, where he played alongside All-Star big man Reggie Miller and helped lead the Pacers to the NBA Finals in 2000.
