Luc Longley Autographs
Luc Longley is an Australian retired professional basketball player, widely known for his successful career as a center in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on January 19, 1969, in Melbourne, Longley started his basketball career while still in the high school team. He then played for the Australian Institute of Sport, where he was noted for his excellent skills as a center, culminating in a move to the United States on a basketball scholarship to the University of New Mexico.
In 1991, Longley was drafted by the Minnesota Timberwolves as the seventh overall pick. He had a successful stint with the Timberwolves, playing in 142 games and recording an average of six points per game. However, his best years were with the Chicago Bulls, where he played for four seasons, starting in 1994. He was a crucial member of the Bulls team which won three consecutive NBA Championships from 1996 to 1998. Longley was known for his defensive abilities and silky smooth passing skills, providing much-needed support to Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, and Dennis Rodman in the team's dominant era.
Longley retired in 2001, finishing his NBA career with the New York Knicks. At the time of his retirement, he had accomplished an impressive record of 6,335 points, 3,482 rebounds, and 1,038 assists. Longley's legacy in Australian basketball is also notable, having played for the Australian men's basketball team and contributing to the team's rise as a basketball power. He was inducted into the Australian Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020, cementing his place as one of Australia's most successful basketball exports.
