Marquis Daniels is a retired American professional basketball player who had an impressive career in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Born on January 7, 1981, in Orlando, Florida, Daniels began his career in basketball as a junior in Edgewater High School. There, he averaged an impressive 25 points, six rebounds, and five assists per game, which landed him a spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Daniels spent the first three years of his NBA career with the Dallas Mavericks before moving to the Indiana Pacers in 2006. During his time with the Pacers, Daniels' talent and determination never went unnoticed, as he was averaging 13.6 points per game in his first season and was voted the NBA's Most Improved Player in 2004. In 2009, he was reunited with his former coach at Auburn, Doc Rivers, who had become the head coach of the Boston Celtics.
