Tyrone Corbin Autographs
Tyrone Corbin was born on December 31, 1962, in Columbia, South Carolina. Corbin is a retired American basketball coach and a former professional basketball player. Corbin's basketball career began while he played for the DePaul University basketball team between 1981 and 1985. While in DePaul, he helped his team to reach the final four in 1984 and the sweet 16 in 1985. Corbin was later named to the school's Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004.
Corbin was picked 35th overall by the San Antonio Spurs at the 1985 NBA Draft. In his 16-year career in the NBA, Corbin played for teams such as the Spurs, Cleveland Cavaliers, Phoenix Suns, and Utah Jazz. His career highlight came in 1992-93, when he led the Utah Jazz to the NBA Finals. Corbin retired from basketball at the end of the 2000-2001 season. Over his career, Corbin averaged 9.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.
After retiring from playing, Tyrone Corbin focused on his coaching career. In December 2004, he became the assistant coach of the Utah Jazz. He served in the position for seven seasons before he was named the head coach of the team in 2010, replacing Jerry Sloan. Corbin later coached in teams such as the Sacramento Kings and the Phoenix Suns. Over his coaching career, Corbin compiled a 215-256 coaching record. Today, Tyrone Corbin remains an influential figure in the basketball community, and his achievements will always be remembered by fans and fellow players.
