Buzz Nutter Autograph

Buzz Nutter was an American football player who made a significant contribution to the game as a center. Born on January 4, 1931, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, he began his football career at Martinsburg High School, where he emerged as a standout player. He continued his career at the University of Virginia, where he played for the Cavaliers in the early 1950s. In 1953, Nutter was drafted by the Baltimore Colts, where he spent his entire 10-year professional career. During his time with the Colts, he established himself as a dominant center, earning several accolades and playing a key role in the team's success. He played in three NFL championship games (1958, 1959, and 1964) and was a part of the Colts' historic victory in the 1958 championship game, often referred to as "The Greatest Game Ever Played."

Off the field, Nutter was known for his kind-hearted and generous nature, and his commitment to charitable causes. After retiring from football, he continued to live in Maryland, where he worked as an insurance agent and remained a beloved member of the Baltimore community.
