Fouts was known for his strong arm and accuracy, and he led the NFL in passing yards for four straight seasons from 1979 to 1982. During that span, he also set an NFL record for most 300-yard passing games in a single season with six. Fouts was named to the Pro Bowl six times, and he was also named the AFC Player of the Year in 1979 and 1982. In addition, Fouts was selected as the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1982.

Fouts' career was defined by his success in the Chargers' high-powered passing offense, known as "Air Coryell," named after Chargers head coach Don Coryell. Fouts retired in 1987 with impressive career totals of 43,040 passing yards and 254 touchdown passes, both of which were among the best in NFL history at the time. In 1993, Fouts was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, cementing his legacy as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Since his retirement, Fouts has worked as a commentator and analyst for various NFL broadcasts. Read even more about Dan Fouts at Wikipedia
