Dan Reeves

Dan Reeves is an American football coach and former player who was born on January 19, 1944, in Rome, Georgia. Reeves attended the University of South Carolina where he played as a halfback from 1962 to 1964. After college, he was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in 1965 and played for the team for five seasons. Reeves was a reliable player who also served as a backup quarterback for the Cowboys. After retiring from professional football in 1972, Reeves began his coaching career as a player-coach for the Cowboys. He later became the team's offensive coordinator and played a major role in the development of the team's quarterback, Roger Staubach. In 1981, Reeves accepted the position of head coach for the Denver Broncos. During his tenure, he transformed the team into a formidable force, leading them to three Super Bowl appearances in the 1980s. Reeves also coached the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons, taking both teams to the Super Bowl.

Reeves retired from coaching in 2003, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most successful coaches in NFL history. In his 23 years as a head coach, he had 190 wins, 165 losses, and two ties. Reeves was inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, University of South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame, and the Denver Broncos Ring of Fame. He is known for his dedication to his players and his ability to motivate them to perform at their best.
