Derek Dooley Autographs
Derek Dooley is an American football coach, born on June 10, 1968, in Athens, Georgia. His father is Vince Dooley, who coached the University of Georgia football team from 1964 to 1988. Derek played college football at Virginia and was named to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference team in 1988. He started his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Georgia in 1996. After coaching a few different positions at different teams, he became the Head Coach at Louisiana Tech in 2007, where he led the team to the Independence Bowl in 2012.
Dooley was named the head coach at the University of Tennessee in 2010. He served until 2012, where he compiled a 15-21 record with the Volunteers. He was well known for his innovative offensive schemes, but his teams struggled to gain consistency. After being fired from Tennessee, he joined the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL as the Wide Receivers coach. He then moved on to become the Tight Ends coach for the Los Angeles Chargers before moving to the New York Giants. He served as the Giants' offensive coordinator between 2018 and 2020.
Throughout his coaching career, Dooley has brought his offensive expertise to various teams. While his tenure as the head coach at Tennessee might not have had the best outcome, he has continued to work hard and learn the latest techniques and strategies in the sport. His contributions have helped shape the success of the football teams he has worked with, and he has shown that his legacy continues to grow. As an active member of the American football community, Dooley is widely respected for his dedication, passion, and knowledge of the game.
