Floyd Little was an iconic figure in American football. Born on July 4, 1942, in New Haven, Connecticut, Floyd was a gifted athlete, excelling in multiple sports. However, it was his skills on the football field that would make him a household name. After a standout high school career, the University of Syracuse recruited Little as a running back. He quickly became the star of the team, known for his quick speed and agility. In his junior year, he gained an impressive 238 yards and scored three touchdowns, leading Syracuse to a victory over Miami. Little started his professional career as a running back for the Denver Broncos, who selected him 6th overall in the 1967 draft. He was a vital part of the Broncos' team, improving their overall record and helping them reach the playoffs in 1972 for the first time in franchise history. In 1973, Little led the NFL in rushing yards and helped the Broncos clinch another playoff berth. Over his nine-season NFL career, he rushed for 6,323 yards and scored 43 touchdowns. His passion and dedication to the game landed him in the Broncos' Ring of Fame in 1984 and the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.

Off the field, Floyd was a man of great integrity and charitable deeds. He was an advocate for underprivileged children, working with organizations to provide them with educational opportunities and mentorship.
