During his college career, Sayers continued to impress with his speed, agility, and pure athleticism. He set numerous records and earned a reputation as one of the best college football players of his time. After graduating in 1965, he was drafted by the Chicago Bears and quickly made a name for himself in the NFL. In his rookie season, he set an NFL record for the most touchdowns scored in a single game and was named the Rookie of the Year. Throughout his career, Sayers continued to set records and earn accolades, including multiple Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors.

Despite his incredible success on the field, Sayers' career was cut short by a series of injuries, and he retired from football in 1971 at the age of just 28. However, his legacy as one of the greatest football players of all time remains, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1977. In addition to his football career, Sayers has also worked as a public speaker, businessman, and philanthropist, and he remains a beloved figure in the world of sports.
