In 2006, Ngata was drafted 12th overall by the Baltimore Ravens, where he played for nine seasons. During his time in Baltimore, Ngata was widely regarded as one of the best defensive tackles in the NFL. He was a five-time Pro Bowler and was named First-Team All-Pro twice. Ngata helped lead the Ravens to a Super Bowl victory in 2012, where he had a key interception in the game.

After his time in Baltimore, Ngata played for the Detroit Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles, where he finished his career in 2018. Ngata was known for his size and strength, as well as his versatility as a defender. He was able to play multiple positions along the defensive line and was a dominant force against the run.
