He was born on July 14, 1995, in Decatur, Georgia, and attended Westminster School in Atlanta. At school, he was an all-around athlete and played soccer, football, and baseball. Butker played college football at Georgia Tech and was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season with the Panthers and made 17 of 17 field goals and 22 of 24 extra points. In the following season, he was released by the Panthers and signed by the Kansas City Chiefs. Butker's career with the Chiefs has been nothing short of impressive. He has made several crucial game-winning kicks and holds the record for the longest field goal in franchise history (58 yards).
