Jerome Bettis is one of the most famous running backs in American football history. He was born on February 16, 1972, in Detroit, Michigan. Bettis started playing football at a young age, and he quickly became one of the best running backs in high school. After high school, he attended the University of Notre Dame, where he continued to excel as a running back. In 1993, he was drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the NFL Draft. During his 13-year career in the NFL, Bettis played for two teams – the Los Angeles/St. Louis Rams and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bettis was known for his powerful running style, and he was one of the best running backs in the league during his prime. He was named to the Pro Bowl six times and was also named as an All-Pro twice. Bettis also helped lead the Pittsburgh Steelers to a Super Bowl victory in 2006.

After retiring from football in 2006, Bettis has become a media personality and football analyst. He is also a philanthropist and has established The Jerome Bettis Bus Stops Here Foundation, a charity that provides scholarships to underprivileged students in Pittsburgh and his hometown of Detroit.
