Matt Schaub is a retired American football quarterback who had an impressive career spanning over a decade in the National Football League (NFL). Schaub was born on June 25, 1981, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and attended West Chester East High School in Pennsylvania before attending the University of Virginia. Schaub's NFL career began in 2004 when he was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the third round. He served as a backup quarterback until 2007 when he was traded to the Houston Texans, where he saw more playing time. Schaub led the Texans to their first-ever playoff appearance in 2011, where he set a playoff record by throwing for 466 yards in a game against the Baltimore Ravens. He was also named to the Pro Bowl that year. Schaub played for the Texans until 2013, after which he played for the Oakland Raiders and the Baltimore Ravens before retiring in 2017.

Overall, Schaub had a successful career as an NFL quarterback, passing for over 24,000 yards and 136 touchdowns in his career. He was also known for his accuracy, finishing his career with a 64% completion rate. In addition to his Pro Bowl honors, Schaub was also named the Texans' Team MVP three times, and in 2009, he was given the Ed Block Courage Award.
